A few weeks back now on Monday 16th October we held a charity event at Hertford Theatre to raise funds for the Willow Foundation. A charity which is based locally, Hatfield, and is the only national charity working with seriously ill young adults aged 16 to 40 to fulfil uplifting and unforgettable Special Days.
The evening was based around the theme ‘Kaleidoscope’ with the aim to bring together excellent examples of colour, texture & design creativity. Exploring the relationship between appearance of fashion & art with the aura of the inner spirit’.
The contemporary exhibition showcased the new winter trends from The Women’s Society Boutique and was a collaboration project with Courtyard arts, Murley & Maples Photography and HRC, promoting the awareness of ’Special Days’ in support of The Willow Foundation.
It was great to have some of the beneficiaries of the Willow Foundation feature in a collection of the images. Jo, Emma and Charlotte all had a special day earlier in the season of a photo shoot, shot by Murley & Maples and make up by Victoria Moody, at Hanbury Manor finished off with a yummy afternoon tea. It was truly inspirational to meet these wonderful ladies and see their determination and strength whilst battling their illnesses. It definitely humbled us and motivated us to put on an exciting event to raise much-needed funds for the charity.
The evening kicked off with live music and some bubbly and there was a great vibe with over 100 guests. It was delightful to have Ash Johnson join us for the evening, founder and designer at Pyrus. Ash was our guest speaker from the Fashion Industry and gave us an exclusive insight on his designs for the brand Pyrus, along with a sneak peak of his new designs (now in the boutique) along with his analysis on the fashion industry and sustainability in the trade and how we can all make a difference. I think we all came away thinking twice about our shopping habits!
So finally the counting has been done and the event raised £613.08 a truly great amount on a Monday evening for a superb cause. A huge thank you to all of the lovely ladies and men who attended the evening and showed your support. It was great to see our gorgeous customers and also meet some new individuals. As a team we all loved being part of a marvelous charity event and are looking forward to the next one. Watch this space!
