London Style Diaries

The clocks have gone forward, the first sight of summer is just around the corner and we are excited to venture out and find new places to eat, drink and to wear new clothes! Last week one of our #wsgirls ventured into London for a gin tasting.

This season Religion has an bohemian feel, the mix of different prints and styles has created an exciting fun edgy collection. We love the trend led detailing, seen through the bell sleeves that elongate arms and add a 70’s vibe to the top. You will be seeing this trend go through to Autumn. This top would be an ideal piece to have in your wardrobe, the style is suited for all, the detailing is beautiful and its so comfortable to wear. We added a pop of pink with this beautiful long necklace from one of our new brands Ottoman Hands.

Our favourite Replay Touch skinny jeans have now arrived in the boutique in grey and white, the perfect colours that will complete your summer wardrobe essentials. They are a high rise with a skinny leg and are made of amazing soft fabric that you will not want to stop touching. White jeans instantly brighten up any outfit, with the Religion mesmerise top they highlight the beaded detailing and leave a clean finished look.

Be confident and mix different fabrics and prints together to create a unique look. We love this Beatrice B Fluffy jacket, its a great piece to have when its a little chilly when your walking through London. The detailing brings a soft but edgy feel to the outfit. We have styled it with the Religion Contemporary dress, which has a beautiful draped front, with a digital print all over it. These two together will be a great combination for those chilly days and you can dress them up or keep them simple for everyday looks.

Add some accents of colour to your outfit, to give the black & White a lift. We adore these Bourne Rose heels, they are so comfortable and wearable for everyday. The heel is a great comfortable height and the hint of lime is so striking and acidic that it highlights the white in the Contemporary top nicely, leaving you with a fresh outfit.

Now for the part we have all been waiting for, the Gin! We went to The City of London’s Distillery, for a tour and of course to taste the gin. It is a retro, cocktail bar that overlooks their amazing copper stills of distillery. We love a G&T in the summer, the mix of juniper berries and other citrus fruits is getting us ready for our summer parties. We had a complimentary G&T when we arrived, which was delicious with plenty of sweet orange and liquorice to get the taste buds ready.

We moved on to meet the copper stills (where all the magic happens) that produce their award winning gins. We had a brief history of gin and the various processes and techniques that they use to distil. They distill all their own gins in house and regularly. They also offer a gin lab experience where you can design and distill your very own gin in their lab. We had a sneaky look and it looks amazing, a bottle of your very own gin. These experiences would make a good gift idea for anyone you know who loves gin, its something different for them to do and the staff are very knowledgeable.

Then we moved on to the best part and tasted 3 different gins. Smelling them and picking out the different flavours that we thought were infused in them. The Square mile Gin, flavoured with lemon, fresh orange and other botanicals was a favourite. Its definitely a keeper! We loved the experience and would recommend it if your having a day in London.

Why not carrying on with the cocktails and head on over to The Alchemist, which we highly recommend. A fantastic cocktail bar with unique creations in an alchemy themed modern bar. The atmosphere is really nice, a lot of oo’s and ahh’s over the dry ice on top of the cocktails. There offer a class in mixology to create their wonderful cocktails, we are definitely going back to try that one.

Keep an eye out for a next London diaries blog!
