September, finally drinking a coffee without a “mummy look”.
Back to work, back to an organised house and finally back to our normal routine!
For some people routine is lovely and others dread it. Whatever it is we have to make it work until the next holiday.
The mornings in September and early October are a difficult one regarding our wardrobes and “what to wear…and what to wear with what?”
You can wear your autumn jumper in the morning and have hot flushes at lunchtime. So the answer for this season is “layering” which is easier said then done..invest in some good basics and have some fun with it.
An outfit should take you through the whole day and into the evening; sometimes adding a piece of jewellery can instantly change an outfit. Or taking away your jeans and wearing your shirt dress in the evening or a meeting at work..
White always looks “fresh” and its a great layering basic.. Combined with the Tigre sweatshirt from Maison & Scotch with the word “blauw” (Dutch for blue) its a good knit to have and layerwith.
Love my new lightweight Barbour Clyde Baffle quilted coat, its so snug, water resistance and dries quickly.
The YAYA Oil dye fitted treggings in pine green are great for autumn , they are flattering and its sometimes nice to stay away from jeans.
I often use one handbag for a season as I’m always in a rush so the Ted Baker Parson leather cross body bag takes you from day to night, midgrey with rose gold is a great colour combination for the season!
When you have different activities going on during the day its nice to have one main outfit. A brilliant piece is this Soaked in Luxury Lola denim dress. Soft denim you can wear all year round!
For the evening or for a lunch meeting just swap the shoes and take the leggings off, in September our legs still have the summer tan!! I love these snake skin Seven Boot Lane Grace ankle boots the heel is also great for daytime, seven boot lane boots are made in Spain and great quality!
Just a few ideas to get us going☺
“Mummie, look what I can do”…..kids are back from school got to dash…enjoy your layering
