Wow, what a month we have had! We are delighted to be winners of ‘Best Women’s Fashion’ in two separate local awards that are voted by you guys! THANK YOU!
The Muddy Stilettos Awards 2018 romped to a close on Friday 18th May with thousands upon thousands of you supporting the local businesses you love the most.
If you’re a regular reader of the Muddy Blog (or voter!) you’ll know that The Muddy Awards are free to all and run as a good-natured, positive celebration of the most brilliant, unique and unmissable businesses across the Muddy counties. Over 20,000 of you voted in the Hertfordshire Awards across 24 lifestyle categories, showing how much we all appreciate independence and creativity.
We are astounded to win in our category ‘Women’s Fashion’ against so many great and big local Indies in the county. It means so much to all the team to have so many of you vote for us.
Victoria and Giulia went to the award presentation at Rothamsted Manor, Harpenden, a grade I listed building set in the Hertfordshire countryside. A venue filled with historic charm and character.
Where they were treated to some bubbles from Nelson + Pops – where Chloe & her friendly team serve us tailored fizz & cocktails from their uniquely lavish retro van ( if you are having a private event this summer we throughly recommend these guys for all your drinks)!
Victoria was presented the award by Sandra Deeble, Author of Muddy Herts. If you are not a subscriber we recommend you take a look. She is an advocate for Indies in the area and always has great tips on events and things to do at the weekend.
A big well done to our fellow local Hertford Indies who also won in the County. It is great to see Hertford shining.
Next up, was a new local award initiative set up by the Hertford Town Council. The Love Hertford Awards. Businesses could nominate themselves in 9 different categories and then the vote went to the public where over 2,500 votes were cast.
Victoria and Giulia again went along to the final presentation at the Castle where the runner up and winner were revealed. It was a little bit stressful as it was a warm evening and we were the last category to be announced!
Yet again we were delighted to receive this recognition and is a real boost to our moral. We were presented the trophy by the Mayor of Hertford, Cllr Beryl Wrangles.
It was a lovely evening and a lovely opportunity to catch up with some other local businesses. A huge well done to all the other winners and finalist. We certainly know the hard work everyone puts in as a small business especially in this extremely hard retail market at present.
Chairman of the Development and Leisure Committee, Cllr Jane Sartin, said: “The Love Hertford Awards have been a fantastic celebration of Hertford’s shops and services, both in the town centre and in neighbourhood shopping parades. It was good to see a mix of independents and national chains recognised, and I hope it has reminded everyone of all that’s on offer on our doorstep. There is every reason to shop local in Hertford.”
Thank you so much to each and everyone of you that voted for us in he awards. It really does make a difference to be recognised and get the positive feedback. It is having the support of our customers and friends that make us great and pushes us to deliver the best we can just for you.
Here are a few comments we received from the nominations that we had to share with you.
