As you may know we have been celebrating 10 years here at The Women’s Society, we’ve got a new website, a revamped store, fantastic new collections – all to mark this momentous occasion. As an independent boutique 10 years is a milestone and marks years of hard work and dedication from Victoria and the WS Girls to make this a success. We wouldn’t have made it this far without the support of our customers, our friends and our brands. Victoria works closely with our brands, selecting the best pieces for our collections and Bourne is a wonderful example of this. Sarah from Bourne wanted to share her thoughts with us on our 10th birthday…
“Huge congratulations to Victoria and the lovely team at The Women’s Society on your 10th anniversary. The boutique has blossomed through some of the most traumatic years for independent retailers and this is testament to your talent, devotion, persistence and sheer hard work!
Bourne has been stocked by the Women’s Society since the doors first opened back in 2006. It has been, and still is, a real pleasure working together and being part of the success story. It’s not only Bourne that appreciates the special business that has been created in just 10 years, you only have to visit the new and beautifully designed website to see how many accolades the industry has piled upon Victoria and her #WSgirls. But, it is the lovely testimonials that carry most weight; genuine customer appreciation of the friendly, knowledgeable and bespoke service they have been given either online or in-store. A refreshing change to the anonymity of high street shopping.
In celebration of a decade dressing the women of Hertford, the store has been given a sumptuous refit to showcase the gorgeous contemporary collections within. Beautifully feminine, luxurious yet welcoming; a visit to The Women’s Society Boutique is a shopping experience not to be missed!
Bottoms up ladies and here’s to the next decade and beyond.
With love from all at Bourne x”
This is all bringing a tear to our eyes! So, the celebrations continued on Sunday, we had a wonderful event to mark the occasion and Sophia one of our lovely WS Girls shares her experience of the day…
“We all arrived at 11am and everyone was feeling very excited for the day’s event to start. We made small tweaks to our displays and had a good dust around! Unfortunately it started to rain cats and dogs and everyone was feeling a little anxious thinking the weather might stop people from coming, but as soon as we opened at 12 the sun came out! Behind the scenes everyone has their own areas to look after and all of us had a lot of fun styling the customers, mingling with everyone and celebrating the fact The Women’s Society has turned 10 years old.
There was a lot of preparation before the event started, sorting gift bags with goodies from our brands, pouring Champagne and preparing canapés for our guests. We wanted to make sure every detail was perfect and all of our collections were looking their best.
It was also really nice having Zoë back with us for the day, she has worked here for 8 years but recently started working in London and we’ve really missed her. She is a fantastic team member and we couldn’t have pulled off such a successful event without her and the rest of WS Girls. The boutique is as much about the team as it is about our collections, we couldn’t function without either one and that’s what makes The Women’s Society so special.
Our event was about celebrating the success of the boutique, we also wanted to give something back to our customers and everyone who supports us now and over the last ten years. As well as food, bubbles, gifts, cakes and good company we had a fantastic singer called Anna, she has an incredible voice and this really helped to complete the wonderful atmosphere in the boutique.
Overall it was a lovely afternoon and we’re so pleased the rain stayed away, thank you to everyone who came to celebrate with us. Here’s to the next ten years…”
We took so many snaps on the day and had to share some of our phone photos with you as well….
We were also very lucky to have Murley & Maples Photography documenting the event with some gorgeous imagery…
